No way! 馃槯 This is the last entry of this blog!  How fast time goes by! This time I will summarize the demonstrations performed by all the groups. The first group consisted of Mauricio, Jonathan, Fernando and Kenneth. They were in charge of teaching listening activities. I remember that the first activity was to listen to an audio and then select the correct answer according to the audio.  The second activity was in pairs and they were given pieces of paper with phrases from a song and as they listened to it they had to put them in order. It was a Twenty one pilots song so it was difficult, it was going too fast for my brain. The second group consisted of Josh, Rodrigo and Brenda. They did teaching speaking activities. I really liked that activity, it was a spelling bee. Years ago I went to a Spelling bee with some students from my school, we didn't win but it was a nice experience. The same goes for reading comprehension, however teachers must take into...

Teaching Writing

Hey! Hallo... or is it hello? 馃槙 This time we were talking about teaching writing. What is that? It is the skills we use to write correctly and effectively. Writing skills don’t just include the activity of writing. Skills like outlining, editing, revising, spelling and grammar, and organization are critical components of the writing process.  Students need to understand that writing is also a form of communication. So teachers should  allow time for their students to do writing activities and practice.  They can walk around the classroom and monitor their students' work; teachers do not lead the activity but only watch and listen to everyone else.  Teachers also have the role of resource and feedback provider; they can help students correct mistakes or supply them with needed material.  There are many approaches to student writing: - Process and product - Genre - Writing as a cooperative activity - Building the writing habit - Writing-for-learning and...
