Hello from the other siiiiide 馃幍 of the screen  Hey there, welcome to another fabulous post! This week we had groups 5 and 6  — we are almost at the end omg —  teaching the classes.  To begin with, what time is it? Oh right, it's time for me to tell you about what group 5  — Dani's group —   taught. Drum roll... 馃they talked about the time!  To break the ice, they started with a warm-up activity. They played the human knot, which I found super fun and effective to start the class in a good mood.   They used the song El baile del sapito as the suggestopedia; by the way, I didn't know there was an English version, how funny lol. They started the class with 4 students so Jaime, Maru, Joaquin and Keneth helped as students as well.  Fernando began by explaining the difference between clock and watch, numbers, a.m. and p.m., types of clocks (analog and digital), etc. As he taught, Fernando looked very passionate.  Then an activity was c...

G'day! 馃槈 For these classes I got demoted from teacher to student 馃槵 There were so few students, only three! Our classmates asked Gustavo, Eunice and me if we could help them by participating as students, so that's what we did.  First to teach the class was Jonathan's group; they teached about the simple present. Josh started by showing a chart with the structure and examples. Subject + verb (in base form) Next, Jonathan carried out an activity. There were two images in the presentation slides, Jonathan said the action and we had to say which one was correct, the one on the left or the one on the right. For example, there was a girl working on her computer and taking notes in a notebook on the left and a boy watching tv on the right. He asked which one is doing homework, so we said the one on the left and so on. Then the teachers explained daily routines and their meaning and gave us each a worksheet where we had to answer the questions according to the video they played. ...

Yo! How's it going? We reached the final round dun duh duh duh duh 馃幒it is both the final round of the semester -last registration- and last round of classes we will be teaching. Again, I was unable to attend class due to an emergency but I will write about what my classmates have told me.  So, the first group to develop the class was No茅's group and they taught vocabulary about daily routine and adverbs of frequency. They gave the students worksheets, worked in groups, repeated the sentences aloud and had the students participate and put into practice what they had seen before.                              The second group was Maru's group and they focused on teaching grammar, specifically the simple present affirmative. They did different activities that were very entertaining and helped to put into practice the topic explained.                    ...

Bonjour, my people! The last groups were in charge of teaching the class, groups 7 and 8 respectively. Unfortunately, I was not able to go to class as I was feeling sick, but my friends told me about the classes so I will try to write according to what they told me. So Miriam started, she showed numbers and objects and asked the students if they knew how to say them in English.  As a warm-up activity, Fernando performed the head shoulders knees and toes game.  Miriam would put up a picture and ask if they knew how to say the object that appeared. The teachers would say the word out loud and ask the students to repeat it; they focused on pronunciation. Then Mar铆a taught the numbers, their pronunciation, emphasizing the -teens and -ties.  Nathaly carried out a game of journalists and stars with the students. The journalists asked questions to the stars and then switched roles. And a t the end, Fernando would ask what they had learned and that was the wrap up of their ...

Hi, fellas! Another day, another entry; however, this entry will be a bit different. Since this time we had the Semana de la Traducci贸n e Interpretaci贸n going on, we were invited to participate in a lecture given by Dr. Nelson L贸pez Rojas, our former literature translation professor.  Only those in charge of delivering the class to our students were staying in the classroom, obviously, and the rest of us went to the multifunctional building, room A-01. By the way, I thought they said room A-10 and got lost looking for it, how embarrasing.   When I finally made it into the room, I took a seat and noticed it was a small room. I was given a paper where they told me I could write any question or inquiry I had. As time passed by, the room was getting full of students and it was such a good thing because I considered the conference to be very fulfilling.  Dr. L贸pez started by introducing himself and his work. What I liked the best was that he lent us the books he tra...
