Body language & coordination, and improvisation
Hello there! 馃憢
New topic alert! That day I could not be in class because I had health problems, but I will try to give my point of view on this topic. According to what my classmates told me, that day they did several activities let's say body activities. They didn't have to exercise or anything like that, but they used their bodies.
The first thing was to make eye contact with the person in front of you while keeping a straight face and to be honest, that's impossible for me. It's easier to catch a fly than to keep a straight face. I'm very giggly, not to mention looking someone in the eye. If I hold eye contact for too long I get nervous and look away quickly. They also had to maintain eye contact as they walked around the room. That's something I couldn't do, I'm very clumsy and would most likely have tripped or fallen flat on my face on the floor.
Second, they had to express emotions with their face and body. I only show two emotions: happy and nervous. Apparently they had to make the person in front of them laugh. I would have made myself laugh and it's not that I'm so funny, I just laugh at everything. It would be a challenge for me to express myself well haha. If I had done this activity of walking around the room as a model with different emotions I would have only laughed the whole time, because of the embarrassment. But one thing I would have been able to do is the activity of complimenting someone. I don't see it as difficult.
Third, improvisation. This topic was developed on a day that I was present so I got to experience the embarrassment in front of everyone haha. We had to improvise a scene from a movie assigned by another group. We got to do the scene from Shrek 2 where Shrek and Fiona's dad are in the dining room fighting. I was Donkey thinking I wouldn't have so many lines, how wrong I was. Then we improvised a scene with music in the background. I don't remember what song we played, but it sounded mournful so I performed a dying girl. That was my moment to shine, I didn't have to move at all.
Here are some of the pictures I took of my classmates' improvisations.
At the end, when we said goodbye we had to do a certain gesture and say why we chose to do that or what it meant. I put my hands on my head simulating the ears of a puppy and I did it because goodbyes remind me that I have left my puppy at home. So, that's it. I bid you farewell.
