Blog entry 1 - Period 2

HELLO THERE! 馃憢

Last entry of the register! 馃帀

In this class we talk about PPU, i.e. Present, Practice and Use. First we have the presentation which is teacher time. It should be noted that teacher time refers to the teacher alone. The teacher takes over the "stage" and can do whatever he wants. The teacher explains the subject he/she is teaching. Time is taken here to allow students to understand the topic.

Then we have the practice time which, in contrast to the presentation, is teacher-student or student-teacher time. This is where the students put into practice what was explained in the presentation. There can be activities in which students can interact with the teacher. There are two types of activities: controlled activities and free practice. Controlled activities are those in which the students cannot fail, it is designed so that there are no mistakes and if there are any, they are very few. Free practice is the opposite; here mistakes are allowed.

Last but not least is production. This is the time for students only.
They must show authentic outcome and real life tasks. In addition, production is where the objective must be met and all activities must be related to the objective.

It is important to plan what we will do as teachers so that we don't get into trouble not knowing what to do at the time of the class.  And without further ado, I bid you farewell. 馃
