Just in time for the last entry!


I can't believe we are already done with classes! It was such a great, fun and exciting experience. I have realized that the job of a teacher is not as easy as it seems, but every effort is worth it when you see how the students are learning and progressing more and more.


My group was the first to start the class, we thought there would be few students showing up like in the past classes but I was surprised to see a few students there that I haven't seen in a long time lol. We explained or rather gave a review on telling time and the use of there is and there are. I noticed that students preferred to ask their questions personally rather than in front of the whole class while we were doing a written activity. I liked that they asked questions, it made me feel that they were willing to learn. 


I was surprised that we finally met the stipulated time, yay! At the beginning of the semester I had many doubts about teaching, but it has been a beautiful and enriching experience and I know that from practice you learn and you gradually improve. 



The second group gave a spectacular class, wow! They really are creative, I wish I was like that. They created an Alice in Wonderland style theme and adapted it to the class and the activities they did. They also brought a little something for the students, how beautiful! 


I really hope that the students learned at least a little bit and that they had a great time and enjoyed the process as much as we did. 


I hope one day to be able to continue putting this knowledge into practice. I thank you teacher for your patience and dedication to us, you made English didactics my favorite subject this semester and I enjoyed it very much! ❤ You are an amazing teacher, thank you very much for everything. We will miss you 😭

The Audiolingual Method

 1... 2... 3! 🎉 We move on to the third method which is the Audiolingual Method, a.k.a. Army Method. During WWII, the soldiers needed to speak their allies or enemies' languages asap, so that's how the Audiolingual Method was born. It emphasizes the teaching of listening and speaking rather than reading and writing. Its main principles are: • Separation of language skills into listening, speaking, reading and writing • Uses dialogues as the principal means of introducing the language. • Emphasizes some practice techniques such as: mimicry, memorization and pattern drills Also, there are some techniques that can be applied with the Audiolingual Method: ◻ Repetition drill ◻ Substitution drill ◻Q & A drill ◻ Transformation drill We did an exercise with each of these drills.  Hello again! 😄 It's exciting to see you again after some time! I hope you enjoyed your vacation. Wow, how time flies by so fast 😱; we are coming to our last semester or well for some of us it is.                                       New semester, new content. Last semester we addressed topics related to learning styles and how to teach. Now, we will put all that into practice. I don't really consider myself a good teacher but I will strive to be one. I can't wait to see how we will perform as teachers 🤩.  I hope to be able to put into practice everything I have seen in the past classes and I hope to be able to do it in the best way possible together with my classmates. It's going to be a semester full of surprises, I wish you all the best. Good luck! 💗

Voice Projection

 Hello there! ✋ In this past class, we didn't cover a lot of theory per se, but we did different activities. The truth was a bit difficult for me because my tone of voice is soft. Do you already have an idea of the topic? That's right, we talked about... VOICE PROJECTION! 👄   First of all, we did exercises with our voice as well as imitations. We watched a video of the imitations that take place in the soap opera Betty la fea, which made me laugh. I guess that actors have a good control of their voices to express so many emotions and they are also good at imitating other people's voices and even gestures. The first exercise we did was basically about that: imitation. Us women imitated a man’s voice, I think I did pretty good although it was really funny. Men had to imitate a woman’s voice so they spoke in a high-pitched tone. Then we all had to imitate a child's voice and I feel like that one was easier because they speak high-pitched and my voice is already like t...
